Lois Strachan – S01 E09

Podcast microphone

In this episode of Have Disability, Will Travel we speak with Lois Strachan.

Lois is an author, inspirational speaker, and host of the Accessible South Africa Travel Podcast. Throughout the interview, I was reminded again and again about why I started this podcast, and the Accessible Travel Forum – to create community and learn from each other.

While I am disabled and use a power wheelchair, that doesn’t qualify my as a disability guru – there is so much I don’t know about other disabilities. So it was great to hear about what it is like to travel with a visual impairment.

Our chat introduced me to to not only the challenges faced by many travelers with visual impairments, but also helped to deepen my understanding of what travel really is at its core and how it goes far beyond sightseeing.
